It's okay to be cautious and to protect your emotional well-being, but consider that your perception of your father may have been unfairly influenced. Remember, reconnecting doesn't mean you have to dive into a full-blown relationship right away; it can be a small step, a message, or even a call to simply hear his side of the story. People change and grow, and the relationship that once was may not dictate the relationship that could be. There's a chance for a new beginning, a fresh chapter where you can discover untapped dimensions of love, understanding, and mutual respect. Sometimes the most profound healing starts with an open heart and a willingness to explore the possibilities.

This video talks about how sometimes when parents don't get along, one parent can make the child not like the other parent. This is not a good thing because kids should be able to love both their parents. The video tells us that it's not okay when parents say mean things about each other or try to make the child choose sides. It also says that children should not feel like they have to depend on one parent too much. Kids should be able to be close to both their mom and dad and not have to pick one over the other.
The Damaging Spiral of Parental Alienation
Parental alienation is a form of emotional manipulation where one parent turns a child against the other parent, often during divorce or custody proceedings. The alienating parent uses various tactics, from outright lies to subtle psychological maneuvers, to convince the child that the other parent is unworthy of love or trust. This manipulation extends beyond the parent-child relationship to involve schools, courts, and extended family, isolating the child and reinforcing the alienating parent's narrative. Over time, the child internalizes these views, often leading to long-term psychological harm, while the alienated parent is left emotionally devastated and unable to maintain a relationship with their child.

In March, I managed to sweep you and Charlie off to Jamaica. I would have loved to have Ella there too, but I just couldn't convince her to come. You and Charlie has so much fun! Do you remember getting your hair braided for 50min under a shaded tree on the beach? You were very excited. I would have loved to take you all away again on more trips and give you more fun experiences.

Cottage (Family Reunion)
Every year in August it was tradition to get together in Haliburton ON. All of you lived the camp fires, fireworks, family games, boat rides to the Marina to grab treats and Jett-Ski rides across the lake. Although this tradition still happens every year, it has never been the same without you.
Jamaica 2019
